Deciding where to go in the limited time you have can be the most difficult task. The reality is that one week in Morocco is not enough to see the whole country. I know many travelers who try to fit several cities into one week. They often leave grumpy, tired and frustrated. Morocco is a big country, and getting from point to point often takes much longer than the map shows.
This 1-week itinerary to Morocco will give you enough time to explore without feeling tired and overwhelmed. If you have a little more time, there is a bonus idea at the end of each one where you can add a little more time.

Itinerary for the week in Morocco:
Day 1: Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen
Today we will pick you up from your hotel or airport in Casablanca and then visit the Second Mosque of Hassan, one of the largest mosques in the world. We will then travel to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where we will tour the major historical sites, including the Uday Kasbah, the Mausoleum of Mohammed the Fifth, and the Hassan Tower, the minaret of an unfinished mosque. We will have lunch, then drive toward Shefshawen. Then hotel, including overnight stay and breakfast.
Day 2: Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Fes el Bali
Your genuine adventure will start toward Volubilis after breakfast at the riad, passing via Wazan and other Rif villages.. In Volubilis you will discover Roman ruins and learn about the archaeological excavations of Moroccan history. After visiting the ruins you will move to Meknes, a seventeenth-century heritage site, where you will stop for lunch and walk through the Medina and Bab el-Mansour. We will then take you to Fez, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Tour of Fez in Medina.
After breakfast in the riad, you will begin to explore Fez, the oldest city in Morocco, walking through its streets and alleys. Your visit will begin at the entrance through the gates of the Royal Palace and continue with the Jewish Quarter, the first mella ever built in Morocco, which dates back to the sixteenth century.
We will make sure you visit all the cultural and historical sites, including the famous Al Karawin University, the oldest in the region, the tanneries, the Attarin Museum and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. In the afternoon you will visit the Tile Cooperative and then enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez. You can also see our 3-day tour from Fez to Marrakech.
Day 4: Fez, Middle Atlas Mountains, Ziz Valley, desert camp.
After breakfast we will travel south into the Merzouga Desert via Midelt and Errashidia. Your first stop will be in the town of Ifrane, called the “Moroccan Switzerland,” and then to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this journey you will catch a glimpse of the mountains of the Middle Atlas and the Upper Atlas.
A visit to the well-known cedar forest, the biggest in Morocco, where you may see barbarian monkeys. You will notice how the landscape changes, revealing hints of desert as you approach the city of Er-Rashidia. After lunch in Midelt, your journey continues through the picturesque Ziz Valley, stopping along the way to admire the panoramic view.
Later, arrive at your destination, where you will ride your camel to see the sunset in the middle of the sand dunes and spend the night there. You will eat dinner and spend the night in our camp in the desert.. (Comfortable camp, including dinner and breakfast.
Day 5: Merzouga desert – Erfoud – Toudra Valley – Dades Valley.
Wake up early to admire the desert sunrise, have breakfast, then hop on a camel from the dunes to reunite with your vehicle and head to Fez (or if you are traveling in an SUV, you can be picked up at camp.
We will then begin our journey into the Dades Valley through the Todh Valley and gorges, where we will stop to take pictures of the kasbahs built by the Jews. You will have the opportunity to walk through the stunning Todh Gorges before heading into the Dades Valley. Overnight stay in the Dades Valley, including dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: Dades Valley, Valley of the Roses, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, Marrakech.
We will drive to Marrakech after breakfast at the hotel, passing through the Dades Valley with its striking rock formations and historic kasbahs before arriving at the Valley of Roses., known for its damask roses, which are harvested in April. Continuing our journey, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as African Hollywood, where you can see the Taurirt kasbah and take a tour of the film studios.
Then we will continue to the UNESCO heritage site, Ait Ben-Haddou Ksar, the largest ksar in Morocco, where films such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and The Jewel of the Nile were filmed. Then we will continue on to Marrakech via Tichka. Pass, one of the highest mountains in Morocco. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
Day 7: Transfer to the airport in time for departure.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Blue City
The second day we drove to Chefchaouen. The route appeals to travelers who want to see the city’s famous blue and white buildings. The main attractions of this place are walking through the narrow streets of the Medina and admiring the vibrant architecture.

Day 3: The Roman ruins of Volubilis – Meknes
The charming streets of Chefchaouen are the perfect place for an early morning stroll. Then we will drive to the site where UNESCO has listed it as a World Heritage Site. It is in good condition.
After seeing the ruins we go to Meknes for 30 km. The city we will explore is among the royal cities and is considered the capital of the Ismailis.

Day 4: Fes
Fes offers many discoveries. Fes is known both for its historical significance and for the preservation of its cultural heritage. The area has become the spiritual and cultural center of Morocco and is considered one of the royal cities.

Day 5: The Sahara Desert
The drive from Fez to the Sahara Desert serves as a demonstration of Morocco’s diverse environment. Climbing a high dune offers a magnificent view of the sunset over the sand.
Nowhere is the dark sky more beautiful than in the desert. As always, the stars and constellations of the Galaxies are clearly visible. The Merzouga Desert is a truly magnificent place.

Day 6: Tudra Gorges
