Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Tangier
Pick up at the airport or port of Tangier, on the first day of our 12 Days Morocco Tour from Tangier, transfer to the hotel and you will have the afternoon free.
Accommodation in Hotel or Riad in the old medina of Tangier
Day 2: Tangier – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we will drive to Tetouan. On our way, we will visit some traditional villages along the Jbala region. The region has a lot to offer, such as the scent of the breeze and the fresh air around the hills. We arrive in Chefchaouen and visit Medina walking through the city center, known for its famous square and its markets. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Today we leave for Fes, we will visit Volubilis, the Berber Roman ruins. Then we head to Meknes, another imperial city with its historical sites. After visiting Meknes, we will pass through the most attractive places towards Fes, where we will spend the night.
Day 4: Day Guided Tour in Fes
After breakfast, we will explain ore Medina (old city) with a local guide. Fes is one of the largest and oldest cities in the world. We will explore the narrow streets along with the fresh scent of spices and colorful carpets, along with many other artistic products of Morocco. We will visit the Palace of the Kings, tanneries, potters, and other artisans lining the sides. Afterward, we will have lunch in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina and then finish the tour and return to our Riad.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga
On this day we will start our journey southeast through the Middle Atlas through Ifrane, the “Moroccan Switzerland”, then Azrou, where we will stop at the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco to see and play with the Barbary monkeys. From here we head south passing through several towns and will have the opportunity to see nomads living in tents on the way. Then we will stop in Midelt where you will enjoy your lunch. Later, we continue our journey to Merzouga through the Tizi N’Talghomt pass (1907m) while enjoying the panoramic views. You will also have a stop for a panoramic view of the Aoufous palm tree along the Ziz river. At the end of the day continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, (Merzouga). Arrive at the hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 6: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga Desert,
After breakfast at you will visit the Gnawa people, originally from Mali, in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about their music and lifestyle. Later drive into the desert area to meet nomadic families and explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be a traditional Berber meal (Berber pizza). Drive back to the village of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride your camel, guided by an experienced camel driver to explore what is hidden in the middle of the highest sand dunes in Morocco. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will spend the night.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
After watching the sunrise over the Sahara dunes and breakfast, we will return by camel to our hotel. We will continue our journey through Rissani, Alnif, and turning towards the Todra Gorge. You will walk along the streams of the canyons. We continue to the Dades Valley, where we spend the night in a riad or local hotel.
Day 8: Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Today we depart for the High Atlas Mountains via Ouarzazate and visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s cinematic sites. This site has attracted several filmmakers, and many award-winning films were made there, including Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Gladiator, and many others. Our lunch will be served at the Kasbah and in the afternoon, we will drive through the Tizi n Tishka pass in the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where we will spend the night in a riad.
Day 9: Marrakech City Tour
Today we will spend the whole day sightseeing in Marrakech, the “traveler magnet” exploring this beautiful city and tourist center of Morocco. Visit the medina, its souks, the famous Jamaa el Fna square, the Saadian tombs, the Menara gardens, and the palaces of El Bahia and Badia. We stay here at the hotel in Marrakech tonight …
Day 10: Marrakech – (Excursion to Essaouira)
After breakfast, we drive to Essaouira, a coastal city and a point of historical prestige in Morocco. After your arrival, you will discover the ancient streets, museums and castles, and the bronze cannons. In the afternoon we return to Marrakech and stay here one night in a riad.
Day 11: Marrakech Free day
Today we drive to Rabat and pass through important cities such as Casablanca, Rabat (capital of Morocco), where we visit the Hassan II Mosque. Then we head north until we reach Asilah, a stylish city on the coast, shining with the color blue. We stay here for one night in a hotel.
Day 12: Marrakech Airport
Free time, transfer to the airport depending on the flight time, and end of the 12 Days Morocco Tour from Tangier
