Description:

A 3-day tour from Fez to the desert, ending in Marrakech via Merzouga, is an exciting journey that allows travelers to explore some of Morocco’s most remarkable landscapes. During this 3-day tour from Fez, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and rich culture of the country.

The trip begins in Fez, where a driver/guide from Sahara Morocco Tours Agency will pick you up at your hotel or riad. The itinerary will take you to Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco, and the cedar forest of Azrou, where you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Itinerary:

Day 1 : Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Departure after breakfast from your riad/hotel in Fes to Ifrane. We cross the cedar forest of Azrou, where we will stop to see and take pictures of the monkeys that live there. Then we will go to Midelt for lunch. Then we will head to the Ziz Valley where we will stop to see the palm grove and the villages in this valley. We will cross Errachidia, Erfoud, and Rissani to reach Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). After a cup of tea, we will ride a camel for 1 hour and 30 min, to enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset over the great sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to attend a traditional Berber music show while watching the stars and the crescent moon over the stunning Sahara desert. Overnight in camps.

Day 2 : Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades

Before sunrise, our camel guide will wake you up to climb the dunes, and find the sun emerging above the horizon. Start the camel ride back. Then we leave for Arfoud famous for its fossilized marble factories before continuing to Touroug to reach the Todra Valley, where we will have lunch. Then we will go to the gorges. The Todra River has formed a gorge of huge vertical walls of great beauty; it is a climber’s paradise and a unique place. We will take a half-hour walk to see the gorges at leisure. In the afternoon we will continue to the Dades Valley passing through Boumalne. We will arrive at the Dades Gorges with several stops for photos. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3 : Dades – Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will take a short walk in the Dades Gorges before leaving for Marrakech. We will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona, the Valley of the Roses, and the road of a thousand kasbahs to reach Ouarzazate, where we will see the Kasbah of Taourir, then we will go to the village of Ait Ben haddou. We will have time to explore the famous UNESCO-protected site, featured in many movies such as Gladiator, Lawrance of Arabia, and many more. Then we will drive through the breathtaking landscapes of the high atlas to arrive in Marrakech around 7 pm, the end of our 3 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga.

Very Memorable and Beautiful!

This tour was amazing and very memorable. Be aware that the drive to the Sahara desert is long from Fes but the journey is worth it. The desert is stunning and like nothing I’ve seen before and the campsite is luxurious. The second and third days you travel across rural Morocco and see incredible scenery such as gorges and the Atlas Mountains. The second night we stayed in a places called dades in a beautiful riad hotel that had an exceptional view. Further to this the food on the trip was traditional and delicious, we got to try a lot of different dishes. To top it off our tour guide, Addi, was very friendly and knowledgeable and made us very comfortable. Would definitely recommend if you want to see all the different and amazing landscapes throughout Morocco!

Fabulous trip.

3 days desert tour from Fes to Marrakesh, it's absolutely an unforgettable travel in Morocco. We highly recommend our driver Hakim, who was always very friendly and enthusiastic, explaining the historical background of the sites along the way and always giving us plenty of time to take photos at the right viewpoints.

Vacation highlights

We were a group of 7, including 4 teenagers aged 19, 18 and 15, traveling from Fez to Marrakech. We loved the opportunity to see more of Morocco's diversity than a city or beach stay could offer, but the camel trek and overnight stay at the desert camp was definitely the highlight of our vacation. We loved the magic of crossing the desert by camel, the welcome at the desert camp, the drumming and dancing and the night under the stars. Hassan created an itinerary that offered us 3 days of sights and our wonderful driver Moha kept us on track. We covered a lot of miles, but loved every minute of it. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip.

Truly amazing

I just came back from the desert tour with my family and friends and I am delighted. We managed to have a deep insight of all the places we visited thanks to our guide and local guides (all arranged by the agency). Our driver/guide Nordine was very helpful, very good driver and very nice person (ask for him if you book the desert tour!). Samir the owner reply to emails and message very quickly. Very reliable agency. We stayed at Riad Bijoux in Marrakesh, cosy atmosphere, very good food home made, personnel friendly and willing to help.

Exceptional! 10/10

Our experience was exceptional. Said and Rachid were phenomenal. We left Morocco having felt we got a great inside view of some of the culture and lifestyle. Said, our guide, was warm and patient with our many, many questions and struck the perfect note between facts, current events and history, and explaining his own experiences and story. The booking process was fine and they gladly personalised the trip according to our request. Highly recommend this tour and in particular our guide and driver!

Amazing tour!!!

We are a family of 4, with a 10 yo and 8 yo. Our family had an unforgettable time on this tour, and really felt like we experienced Morocco. Our driver and guide - Hamid and addi - were just wonderful. Hamza explained so much to us about the cultures and history of Morocco and the Berber people. We visited lots of interesting places, but were never under pressure to buy anything. If we found something interesting we could stay longer, if we didn’t we left - easy! The guys even deviated from the tour as we wanted to take a peek at a massive solar farm that’s being built - so great! The car was new, very comfortable (7 seater) and safe - Adnan’s driving was excellent. We can’t recommend Sahara Morocco Tours highly enough - they are definitely the people to trust to provide you with a magical family experience of Morocco!
