Itinerary:
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Pick up you at your Riad in Fes towards the middle atlas to visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. Meet in the Berber village Azrou “the rock”, then arrive in Midelt. Continue our way through the Tizi Talghemt or Camel’s Neck, where we will see beautiful landscapes with mountains at 1,907 meters of altitude. Then reach Errachidia to live the crossing of the Tafilalet massif to the palm grove of Erfoud. Continue on route to reaching the incredible sand dunes of Erg Chebbi next to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Nomadic Families – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we travel one of the routes used in the “Paris-Dakar Rally” visiting desert nomads who will treat us with a ricoté. There see the oasis where some movies like “Sahara” and “Aladdin” among others were filmed. Visit the village of “the blacks”, so called because of the slave trade brought from Sudan. After lunch, Ride the desert car and the camels. They will take us into the desert to contemplate a magnificent sunset. This night will be unique, stay in tents, like the Berbers, where we can enjoy music and a starry sky that will dazzle us.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake up early to contemplate the radiant sunrise in the desert. Return by camel to the lodge, to take a shower and have breakfast. Then we will leave for Rissani, to visit its market where all the nomads of the desert go to stock up. Leave for Erfoud where Visit the fossilized marble factory. Then we will continue our journey to the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Then arrive at the impressive Todra Gorges. The Todra River has formed vertical walls of immense size and beautiful views, this place is gold dust for climbers. There we will have lunch and walk to appreciate the calm of the Gorges. In the afternoon, we will take the road to the Dades Valley through Boumalne. Dinner and overnight in the Dades Gorges.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, Visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where many movies have been filmed such as “Lawrence of Arabia” “Babel” and “Gladiator” for example. Then, drive to Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass. On the way, we will see Berber villages and farms. Arrival in Marrakech and end of our service.
