Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura palm grove – Rose valley – Dades gorges

Depart from Ouarzazate in the morning and take the famous road of a thousand and one Kasbahs to reach the great palm grove of Skoura, visit the Amridil Kasbah dating from the 17th century. Continue on to the Rose Valley and Kelaa M’gouna (the rose capital), then take the Boutghrar track, passing several nomadic families living in Grotes. We’ll have a chance to visit one of these families, after which the track continues through beautiful Berber villages to reach the other valley and the Dades gorges. Overnight at the hotel on a half-board basis.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Toudgha Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, departure for the famous Gorges de Toudgha with its two 300 m high sheer cliffs. Then on to Tinjdad (lkhourbat), where we’ll visit a museum of Berber culture. After lunch, we head for Erfoud, famous for its fossil quarries, and the famous Erg Chebbi dunes (Merzouga). Camel ride to your bivouac. Overnight in your tent on half-board basis.

Day 3. Merzouga – N’kob – Draa Valley and palm grove – Ouarzazate

Wake up in the morning to watch the sunrise over the desert. Return to the inn by camel. After breakfast, departure for the town of Rissani (Tafilalet: capital of the former Alaouite sultans). Then on to Alnif, the Tazarine oasis and N’Kob. Lunch on site. Continuation to Ouarzazate, passing through the Draa Valley, the world’s largest palm grove, with its exceptional greenery in a desert environment, where the local people are busy with their daily chores. After passing the Berber village of Agdez and the Col de Ait Saoune at an altitude of 1660 m, we reach Ouarzazate. Overnight at your hotel
