Erfoud is an ideal starting point for exploring the Moroccan desert and its extraordinary landscapes!

Erfoud was first settled by the French military, to keep an eye on the rebellious tribes of the Tafilalet region. The town later prospered thanks to the flourishing trade in dates and marble, renowned for its 360 million-year-old fossil inclusions.
